Saxon Way is a community driven school, part of the Griffin Trust, a Multi Academy Trust in the Medway Towns that takes great pride in the support it offers to every member of staff, being a trainee teacher just starting out or an Assistant Head Teacher.
The successful Trainee Primary Teacher will be joining a group of dedicated professionals who strive to uphold the three dimensions of school life; a strong pastoral system which ensures each child is known and understood, the broadest provision that widens minds and opportunities and the highest standards of achievement both inside and outside of the classroom.
Saxon Way is seeking a Trainee Primary Teacher with a 2:2 or above and ideally some previous experience of working with children, however this is not essential. Any individual with a desire to get involved in extracurricular sports would be warmly welcomed. The most crucial attribute the successful trainee should possess is the ability to jump straight in to school life, going the extra mile for colleagues and pupils alike, whilst really absorbing what it means to be a primary.
We know that two full years in a school will enable you to become a confident and reflective practitioner. Through rich experiences in a consistent setting blended with online learning and insightful residentials, Premier Pathways develops you at a steady pace.
Our salaried programme supports you financially, whilst both a University Tutor and Premier Pathways Mentor nurture your academic progress and wellbeing. This unique combination of no tuition fees, educational support and peer network allows you to focus on the fundamentals of teaching and learning and refining your practice.
The first year of the programme will see you join your school in a support role capacity, working towards the standards of a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship. This will equip you with the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for a successful career in education and allowing you to practice them within the context of your school.
The second year is when your PGCE will commence, taught by the highly esteemed University of Buckingham. Your teaching timetable will increase as you put your theoretical understanding and practical experience to effect, remaining at a pace that is both challenging and comfortable.
Saxon Way is a fantastic environment in which to realise your teaching potential - the application window for this opportunity is now open. Apply today.
