St Margaret’s Church of England Primary School is a well-facilitated, 2-form entry primary school. It has its own Foundation Stage (Nursery) and the school is able to offer high standards of educational provision to 470 pupils. St Margaret’s is part of Genesis Education Trust, an expanding collection of outstanding and good schools in East London with a fantastic track record of training and progression opportunities for all staff.

The school offers a strong team, first class training and dedicated colleagues that will support you through teacher training. A key ingredient in their continued success is the effective training of our future teachers and leaders through our coaching and mentoring programme. The school’s trainee teachers and NQTs tell us that they are happy, confident and valued members of the team!

We know that two full years in a school will enable you to become a confident and reflective practitioner. Through rich experiences in a consistent setting blended with online learning and insightful residentials, Premier Pathways develops you at a steady pace.

Our salaried programme supports you financially, whilst both a University Tutor and Premier Pathways Mentor nurture your academic progress and wellbeing. This unique combination of no tuition fees, educational support and peer network allows you to focus on the fundamentals of teaching and learning and refining your practice.

The first year of the programme will see you join your school in a support role capacity, working towards the standards of a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship. This will equip you with the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for a successful career in education and allowing you to practice them within the context of your school.

The second year is when your PGCE will commence, taught by the highly esteemed University of Buckingham. Your teaching timetable will increase as you put your theoretical understanding and practical experience to effect, remaining at a pace that is both challenging and comfortable.

St Margaret’s Church of England Primary School is looking for a Trainee Primary Teacher who wants to make a difference. Purposeful individuals with a passion for primary education, a desire to contribute and a determination to advance the life chances of young people will be warmly welcomed and valued.
