The school’s motto ‘Practise to Perfect’ underpins the culture of high expectations and is reflected in the enviable scores for value added by which their performance is judged.

Kingsmead believe all pupils should be able to take courses that fit their aspirations and as such have 27 A-level subjects and a Performing and Visual Arts specialism. We know that two full years in a school will enable you to become a confident and reflective practitioner. Through rich experiences in a consistent setting blended with online learning and insightful residentials, Premier Pathways develops you at a steady pace.

Our salaried programme supports you financially, whilst both a University Tutor and Premier Pathways Mentor nurture your academic progress and wellbeing. This unique combination of no tuition fees, educational support and peer network allows you to focus on the fundamentals of teaching and learning and refining your practice.

The first year of the programme will see you join your school in a support role capacity, working towards the standards of a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship. This will equip you with the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for a successful career in education and allowing you to practice them within the context of your school.

The second year is when your PGCE will commence, taught by the highly esteemed University of Buckingham. Your teaching timetable will increase as you put your theoretical understanding and practical experience to effect, remaining at a pace that is both challenging and comfortable.

Kingsmead School is looking for a Science Graduate who wants to make a difference. Purposeful individuals with a passion for their subject, a desire to contribute and a determination to advance the life chances of young people will be warmly welcomed and valued. The school has benefitted from a 10 year building programme which has enabled new or highly improved teaching facilities.

If Kingsmead School and Sixth Form sounds like somewhere you can begin to realise your potential, the application window for this opportunity is now open. Apply now.
