Are you looking for a fully salaried teacher training route?

Do you want to achieve the highest accreditation available for beginning teachers whilst developing your expertise within the support of one school? Premier Pathways are proud to be working with Castledon School to secure a trainee Science or Maths teacher for our two-year ITT programme. There is an opportunity for this role to start in January 2020 as a Graduate Teaching Associate to provide additional experience before commencing your two-year initial teacher training programme with Premier Pathways.

Premier Pathways offers you:

  • £14,040 in Year 1 and £15,795 in Year 2

  • Full PGCE with 60 Masters credits + QTS with the University of Buckingham

  • Full time for two years

  • Absolutely no tuition fees

Castledon School are looking to meet with enthusiastic and dedicated graduates who ideally have some understanding of SEN e.g. Autism, SLCN and ADHD. You will have a creative flair and the ability to think outside the box. You need to enjoy working with young people with learning difficulties, and have a passion to deliver exceptionally strong, creative lessons, which relate learning to real life and allow young people to develop skills needed for adulthood.

About the school:

Castledon are a school and college with a dedicated team that help meet the differing needs of every young person at the school. As an academy, Castledon offer provision to pupils from year 1 to year 11 within the school site and year 12 to 14 within their college. All pupils need an EHC plan to be offered a place at Castledon. Pupils attend with a wide range of complex needs; these include autism and communication difficulties.

Through strong partnerships with parents and collaboration with a range of other agencies the school offers a caring and friendly learning environment in which pupils make excellent progress. Castledon are a forward-thinking school that is always responsive to changing needs.

The successful candidate will:

Be able to relate to children of all abilities, some may present challenging learning or social behaviours. You must be empathetic and understanding, be approachable but maintain a professional distance. You will be able to defuse rather than confront and be able (in time) to design and deliver engaging and purposeful lessons.

  • Hold a good bachelor’s degree in Maths or Science

  • Have a GCSE Grade C or 4 in Mathematics and English Language

  • Be passionate about teaching and making a difference to young people

  • Have the presence and character to relate to the students at Castledon School
