Do you want to achieve the highest accreditation available for beginning teachers whilst developing your expertise within the support of one school? Premier Pathways are proud to be working with Wemms Education Centre to secure a trainee teacher of mathematics or science for our two-year ITT programme.

*Another core subject, or humanities will also be considered.

Premier Pathways offer you:

  • £14,040 in Year 1 and £15,795 in Year 2

  • Full PGCE with 60 Masters credits + QTS with the University of Buckingham

  • Full time for two years

  • Absolutely no tuition fees

Wemms Education Centre is a specialist independent school for boys and girls aged 10-20. The school is rated Good by Ofsted and is proud of its attendance record and outstanding GCSE attainment. The school demonstrates a commitment to holistic education and is defined as world class in teaching and learning for maths, science and English. The school offer lots of learning opportunities outside the classroom, including visits to museums, theatres and other real-world events. This school changes the life chances of the students it supports, in short – it has saved lives.

The staff are supportive, passionate and committed – working well as a team, planning is done as a team and assessment is conducted in school (in lesson). Additionally, the staff attend regular staff social events and staff yoga! Students at the school are highly intelligent and work towards securing high level GCSEs. Classes are small groups or 1:1 as students present with a range of SEMH needs such as, acute anxiety, PTSD, high functioning autism and depression. All students have an EHCP and/or IEP and will use learning ladders, extracurricular excursions and other creative methods of learning.

The successful candidate will:

Be able to think on your feet, be empathetic and understanding, be approachable but maintain a professional distance. You will be able to defuse rather than confront and be passionate about your subject, with the ability to go sideways during a lesson and get back on track in another lesson – you need to be creative and willing to learn!

You will also:

  • Hold a good bachelor’s degree

  • Have a GCSE Grade C or 4 in Mathematics & English Language

  • Be passionate about teaching and making a difference to young people

  • Have the presence and character to relate to the students at Wemms Education Centre
